Happy Espresso

(UPDATE January 2013: Happy Espresso has moved to the Carts on Foster pod, located at the corner of SE 52nd and Foster)

Happy Espresso is located at the Ala Carts food pod (SE 102nd and Stark) in Portland, Oregon.

One side of the cart...
Happy Espresso has one heck of a menu, so I took a little time before ordering. Ultimately, I got a small nonfat Peppermint Latte ($3.25): steamed nonfat milk, espresso, and peppermint flavoring.

...and the other side (so it looks like you can order either side)

Small Nonfat Peppermint Latte (Happy Espresso)
Yeah, I forgot to actually get a picture of the latte...oops
No frills here, just a tasty latte. The cart owner requested that I sample the drink to see if it met my approval. One of the extremely rare times where customer satisfaction gets taken to a new level! I feel this is so important. Everyone's tastes are different, and this all but ensures each customer gets what he/she wants.

Indeed, it was fantastic. The peppermint is certainly at least the co-star in this drink, as the espresso battles back as if to say, "Don't forget about me." Considering I eat a ton of food all the time and am susceptible to major food comas, the shot of caffeine at least helped get me home safely.

In addition to a full espresso bar, you can get Italian sodas, teas, and more. I had a nice experience at Happy Espresso. Check this cart out! 7.25/10

  1. Thank you Aaron for trying our drinks out and writing such a grand report on us.

You impressed me in noting how we ask everyone to taste their drinks before they leave to make sure it is how they like it.

Guess we are a bit of "old school" but we appreciate our customers more then some others do. How could we be named HAPPY ESPRESSO if we did not make our customers happy. We do that every time any of our regulars come by let alone any new customers.

I like how you described our espresso taste. We blend our own beans to get that taste. It is our own. I wanted a smooth but robust taste. Not a burnt one like some offer.

So thanks again Aaron. We appreciate you.
