Burger Monster

Burger Monster is a California food truck serving the Anaheim and surrounding area. For this review, I spotted them at Vidcon 2016 in Anaheim, California.

Burger Monster features a menu touting house-made sauces, hand-formed and hand-seasoned patties, and buns delivered daily from a local baker. There are anywhere from 6-9 burgers on the menu, as well as fries with toppings. Burger prices will only get you the burger; fries will cost extra.

The Pigzilla ($10.50) starts with sriracha-braised BBQ pulled pork, zesty cole slaw, tomatoes, Swiss, garlic sriracha aioli, and house-made BBQ sauce. Juicy pulled pork and a lovely sweet BBQ sauce to complement. I loved the (mild) spice and the garlicky nature of the aioli. Awesome bun that encased everything well, but not a rock-hard carby roadblock. This is a legit sandwich.

The Herbivore Fries ($5.50) also called my name that day. Fries are topped with feta and their house-made herb sauce. Being a huge feta cheese fan, I simply couldn't pass up this delight. The right amount of creamy, salty goodness, and the herbs help bring everything together.

The only regret for me: not piling the Herbivore Fries inside my sandwich. Probably would have been beyond pandagasmic.

The $16 price tag here is a bit pricey, but maybe I'm used to the (cheaper) prices that Portland may bring. Again, very good service, especially given the lines Vidcon has for all food trucks there.

For those wondering, the OC sauce on their American Werewolf burger ($10.75) is basically 1000 Island Dressing. It wouldn't surprise me if it was one of their most popular burgers sold.

Burger Monster is a great food truck serving the Anaheim (and surrounding) area! Check them out! 8.5/10

  1. Hey Aaron, this is Brandon Takanabe, the owner of Burger Monster. An employee of mine came across your write up about us the other day and I wanted to say thank you. I appreciate your piece on us. I wanted to extend an invite to come back and try us again and again, we're refining our menu as well as bringing out some new items throughout the year. Thanks again.
