Rainbow Burrito

Rainbow Burrito is located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, Makai food court, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Continuing with my Mexican food bender, my friend and I recently went to Ala Moana to get some walking in and people-watch. After ending up at the food court, I decided to give Rainbow Burrito a shot.

Typical menu here, which includes burritos, tacos, and bowls.

I ordered the #1 burrito ($13.50), which comes with choice of meat, rice, black beans, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. I initially wanted pork, but they were out, so chicken was my next option. I nixed the sour cream as usual - not my cup of tea there. Burritos come with a mild green salsa, likely from tomatillos.

The burrito itself is maybe 7-8" long. Despite having some thickness to it, there's not a lot of chicken in this one, maybe a few pieces here and there as I kept eating.

It's still a very good burrito, and the green salsa is also good. Lots of color from all the fresh ingredients.

Good service, maybe took a couple minutes to receive my order.

In case any non-Hawaii residents were wondering, Hawaii is getting back to normal. The government lifted the mask mandates, although private businesses can still enforce it if they want. Most mandates have been lifted, and even if some places still enforce it, I haven't seen anyone forced out for not complying. Increasing numbers of people are staying unmasked here. Also, travel restrictions are gone. Not surprisingly, Ala Moana - one of many tourist attractions - was busy. Hopefully that means the small businesses here have a better chance to survive now.

Rainbow Burrito is a solid option to get your Mexican fix! 8/10
