Before meeting up with a friend, I decided to stop in for some gelato to pass the time. As always, gotta do dessert before a meal.
Honolulu Magazine did a feature on 7Gradi last spring. "7 Gradi" means 7 degrees in Italian, and not surprisingly, the team here makes the gelato at that Fahrenheit temperature.
7Gradi Gelato has several rotating flavors, probably around 12-15 options. You can get a single (2 choices) or double (3 choices) in a cup. They also have French waffles in three different flavors: plain, cinnamon, or cocoa. It's basically a "croffle", a cross between a croissant and a waffle.
I ordered a single cup gelato ($5.40) with Tiramisu and "Billberry Cheesecake" (which I assume meant to say Blueberry Cheesecake).
Delicious gelato, extremely velvety/silky, light, and airy. A pleasing coffee experience on the Tiramisu, while the cheesecake really made blueberry the star.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend parking in the parking structure adjacent to SALT. If you buy anything at one of their shops or food spots, you can get a validation ticket to knock your parking fee down significantly - note that the first hour is free no matter what. I stayed for about 2.5 hours and my $12 parking reduced to $2.
7Gradi has some of the best gelato I've had on the island. Highly recommended for the person with a sweet tooth. 9/10
