J Mo's Sandwich Shack (Part 3)

(Original Review -- July 2012)
(Fundraiser Event -- August 2014)

After visiting this cart several times in the past (but only actually posting about this spot twice before), it's quite safe to say I am a fan of J Mo's Sandwich Shack. This time, I opted for one of his specials.

J Mo has slightly downsized his menu over the past year, but has kept the popular items. Of course, the signature Dirty Mo obviously remains.

Don't be fooled that you're just getting one Chicken Parmesan slider for $4. It's much larger than your typical slider. I also love that he's selling that delicious garlic bread with marinara. It's a great side option that smartly utilizes the food he already has.

I opted for one of his specials: a Sausage and Peppers Sandwich ($8). Spicy Italian sausage, along with a medley of cooked bell peppers and onions, topped with his critically acclaimed marinara. A hearty, filling sandwich well worth the $8. You'll get your sausage fix, along with the cooked-but-crunchy peppers/onions. The marinara just brings everything together.

For me, I'd consider asking for a toasted bun, along with some parmesan cheese on top. I'd even contemplate getting that sandwich with garlic bread. I'm sure J Mo will gladly approve such a custom order. The toasted bun and garlic butter is probably why I gravitate toward that Dirty Mo so much.

Overall, J Mo's remains one of my absolute go-to spots, and I recommend this cart to anyone visiting Portland. 9.25/10
