Helium Comedy Club

Helium Comedy Club is located at the corner of SE 9th and Hawthorne in Portland, Oregon.

First time at this comedy club, and I chose to make it a memorable one. Pro wrestling legend Mick Foley was in town as part of his 2015 comedy tour, and it would turn out to be the best $27 spent in a long time.

No cameras or recording during the live event. You can use your phone before or after the event -- as I did to snap photos of the menu and the food.

Pretty good menu at the Helium Comedy Club, which has an array of sandwiches and appetizers. There's a full bar available for beer and cocktails.

I got the Cuban ($11): pulled pork, ham, Swiss, remoulade, and spicy mustard on pressed, grilled foccacia bread. Served with a side of chips and a dill pickle spear. While the Cuban sandwich itself was good (nice pulled pork and melted Swiss), it certainly was not pressed or grilled. Just tasted like regular foccacia to me.

After two hours of hardcore laughing, our ticket stub got us a meet-and-greet with Mick Foley. Tons of wrestling fans showed up, and the event actually sold out several weeks in advance. Mick's a real nice guy, signing anything and posing for photos. On top of my two pictures, I got a signed Hall of Fame photo for $10.

Me with wrestling legend Mick Foley!
Epic experience at Helium Comedy Club when it comes to entertainment. The food probably could have delivered a bit more, but it's still worth getting. 8/10
