I felt it was time to eat something different from the usual foods I eat at home. It had been a while since I had Thai food, and with Thai Village not too far away, I popped in on a Monday afternoon for a takeout order.
Since it was still between the traditional lunch and dinner times, the place was empty.
Thai Village has a good interior. Lots of Thai/Asian themes. You can order takeout at the counter, or be seated to dine in.
I was craving Pad Kee Mao, so I got the chicken version ($15.95) and added a bit more spice on the side. After about 5-7 minutes, I received my takeout order. On the side, one container of spicy chili oil and presumably Thai chile powder.
Noodles wonderfully cooked, not overcooked despite being in the takeout container for the ride home. Juicy, tender chicken. Broccoli cooked, yet still crisp. Crunchy sprouts and complementing basil. It might not be an explosion of flavors, but everything is still done right. Excellent meal.
Thanks to inflation, I don't know if the prices have gone up and/or the portion size got smaller in the past three years.
The default hot spice should be ideal as is for many people. Even after adding a small amount of powder and oil, I started sweating profusely. In other words, proper science.
Great service overall. Definitely recommending Thai Village if you get to Central Oahu. 8.5/10
