Hudson's Bar and Grill

Hudson's Bar and Grill is located on NE Greenwood Drive in Vancouver, Washington.

I recently took a trip back to the Pacific NW to see friends and visit my property manager. First time back in nearly four years, and while some things have changed (mainly some small businesses closing), most have stayed the same.

My property manager suggested we try Hudson's Bar and Grill, since it was close to her workplace. I recall coming here for a law-related function, possibly a CLE, many years ago.

My eyes darted right to the "all-day brunch menu", which is served from 8 AM to 2 PM. There's a mix of breakfast entrees and lunch favorites.

I ordered the Hudson's Corned Beef Hash ($17): Bell peppers, onions, house-made corned beef hash, a dijon cream sauce, two poached eggs, and choice of toast (I got wheat).

Amazing hash. Tender chunks or shreds of corned beef among perfectly cooked peppers and onions, with the dijon cream sauce pulling everything together.

Eggs looked perfectly runny to start, but of course the residual heat from the hash kept cooking the eggs until the yolk cooked completely. No issues here, as I would rather enjoy hot, tasty food.

Mom enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros ($15): Two eggs cooked any style (overeasy here), chorizo and beans hash, fried tortillas, arbol pepper cream, cilantro cream, and queso fresco.

I forgot to take a picture of my property manager's bowl of Salmon Chowder ($8), but she raved about it. Even just a cup of that chowder ($6) would be a great introduction (or re-introduction) to the Pacific NW.

Huge portions here, you'll easily get your money's worth. It was this place that got Mom and I to start sharing meals more often throughout the trip. The panda can no longer eat a ton, but luckily no one had to wheelbarrow me out of here.

Great service and not very busy for a weekday lunch. It can get a bit pricey depending on what you order, but Hudson's gets a solid high recommendation from me. 8.75/10
