Whenever I crave something sweet, pie is one of the first things I gravitate to. One Google search and a quick scan of Hawaiian Pie Company's menu later, I put it on the list to try immediately.
They are adjacent to Underdogs Sports Bar and Grill, and I nearly missed the turn into the parking lot. There are a couple spaces for Hawaiian Pie Company, but with just one way in and out, I'm just glad there were not a lot of cars there at the time.
The inside is small enough to order and take out, no tables there. They will have 4-5 full-size (9-inch) pies and mini 4-inch pies for sale. Most of them are there all the time, with at least one seasonal. There also might be a savory pie option for those who aren't in the mood for sweets.
After a bit of deliberating, I got the mini Caramel Apple pie ($8), a delicious apple pie filling balanced with sweet caramel. Wonderful buttery, flaky crust, just what the doctor ordered. While I had to wait to get home before enjoying, it was probably for the best with the scorching heat outside.
Wonderful, friendly service here. While I wish they sold slices of their regular-sized pies, it's an easier business model to sell whole pies and have the customer take them home.
Hawaiian Pie Company, while a bit on the pricey side, comes through with great flavors and flaky crusts. 8.5/10
