Bad Habit Room

Bad Habit Room is on N Michigan Avenue in Portland, Oregon.

The sister spot to Saraveza, Bad Habit Room is generally open for weekend brunch from 9 AM to 2 PM. When I went around midday, only a few seats remained, and larger parties were relegated to a waitlist. Dining alone, I was able to grab a seat at the bar with no wait time.

Since the owner is a Green Bay Packers fan, the Packers games will be shown during football season.

Lots of tasty items on the menu here, ranging from Brioche French Toast to benedicts. They also make their own pop-tarts. Several cocktails are available if that's your thing.

The panda almost always starts with coffee. Bottomless coffee available here for $3.25. Proper coffee here.

I got the Corned Beef Hash ($12): Painted Hills brisket; potatoes, sweet onions, root vegetables, and two poached eggs, served with a scratch biscuit.

Condiments include their carrot-habanero sauce and strawberry jam, all house-made.

Fork-tender, delicious chunks of corned beef. The veggies were cooked perfectly, all the way through but still with some resistance. The carrot-habanero sauce has a little heat, but you can appreciate the flavor. Excellent poached eggs, albeit maybe on the smaller side. Meanwhile, the strawberry jam has a wonderful concentrated strawberry experience while not being overly sweet. I totally recommend that jam with the biscuit.

As noted earlier, larger parties may face a wait time. You can park on the street anywhere in the vicinity, but the spots closest to Bad Habit Room will fill quicker. I parked about 2-3 blocks away.

Bad Habit Room is an awesome brunch spot! 8.5/10
