Alan and Betty-Ann Lee founded Lee's Donuts and is one of the original 21 Granville Public Market vendors, which dates back to July 1979. The original recipes still live on today.
There are several options as always, which also can be found on their website. At the time I went, the most popular choices are all yeast donuts: Honey Dip (glazed), Raspberry Jelly-filled, and Bavarian (vanilla custard-filled).
I went with the Honey Dip, Chocolate Iced, and Maple Iced donuts. While the Chocolate Iced and Maple Iced can be either a yeast or cake donut, I concluded after eating them that the ones I got were probably the cake donut variety, as they were denser and not as pillowy.
Since my mom paid for these, I can't remember what the price was, but they'd probably be your standard donut prices.
That said, all three donuts were excellent. The Honey Dip by far was the winner with us, being pillowy soft and a good glazed donut.

I of course needed to get something maple while in Canada, and the Maple Iced came through with wonderful maple flavor while not being too sweet.

Chocolate Iced was mom's pick, and it was a solid choice. Personally, with these two, I'd try for the softer yeast donut next time, but that's more of my overall preference anyway.

At the Granville location, the line moved steadily, solid service throughout.
Check out Lee's Donuts if you head to BC. 8.5/10
