Of Roots and Blooms

Nick and Carina, owners of Of Roots and Blooms, plan to open a spot in 2016. For the last few months, they have been doing Sunday popup menus at Culmination Brewing!

Of Roots and Blooms is a vegan menu, so no meat and no dairy. I honestly did not have any vegan items when The Cheese Plate was still around, but I had always heard the vegan options there were just as good as the non-vegan items.

Menu for 1/31/2016

I mainly came for their take on Classic Mac & Cheese ($9), a lovely portion of cavatappi pasta in creamy cashew "cheese" sauce, all over baby spinach, topped with kale chip crumbles and breadcrumbs.

The rave reviews I had read piqued my interest. I had been legitimately curious how this would compare to a dish using real cheese. And frankly, to me, it was just as good, even spot-on when it came to how creamy and rich the dish got. Needless to say, I was very impressed.

I'd definitely have a good IPA with this meal, and Culmination Brewing has a few of those.

The menu rotates every week, at least until they open their stand-alone spot. I've seen nachos, tacos, and vegan takes on New England Clam Chowder and New England clam rolls. The menu will be posted on their Facebook page a few days before the event.

For now, check out Of Roots and Blooms every Sunday at Culmination Brewing!
