Farrar's Bistro

Farrar's Bistro is located on NW 36th Avenue in Vancouver, Washington.

Not sure how I didn't get to this spot before. It's the sister restaurant of Sixth Avenue Bistro in the adjacent Hazel Dell neighborhood. Whether it's Farrar's or Sixth Avenue, both were ridiculously close to home. Farrar's opened in 2007.

Coming here for lunch, the menu has several appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and bowls. There's a bar with wine and beer as well, but since I had to go back to work, I had to pass on that until another day. There will be seasonal specials.

I definitely recommend the Chimichurri Power Steak Bowl ($15). Seared Angus beef, cheddar jack cheese, roasted corn and black bean pico, cilantro chimichurri, greens, and topped with tortilla strips. A healthy portion that limits the heavy-in-the-gut carbs, but provides the protein needed to get through the day. The corn/bean pico and the chimichurri really added to the experience.

It's basically a steak salad and looks like a big portion, but shouldn't leave you with food coma regret. I seriously could eat that bowl almost every day.

Excellent service and a casual vibe. There's limited parking on either side of the building; otherwise, you may need to park on an adjacent street. I may have to check out Sixth Avenue Bistro now; at least they would have a larger lot to park in.

Head to Farrar's Bistro for a great meal and some drinks! 9/10
