Hula Grill Waikiki

Hula Grill Waikiki is a restaurant located in the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel on Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu, Hawaii.

When meeting family for dinner, it's good to arrive early. Not just because the traffic sucks, but the panda wants to enjoy a beer during Happy Hour.

The menu has a bunch of amazing dishes. So many items that I would have wanted to try. Alas, the wallet cried upon seeing the prices, so the panda settled for one main course.

We got free foccacia bread to start. Gotta have it with olive oil and chile oil.

The five fresh Hawaiian fish dishes on the menu called to me this time, namely the "Grilled Hawaiian Style" option: Tat soi salad, li hing mui compote, and a chili lime vinaigrette. The fish options can change on any given day.

I really enjoyed that compote. A nice salty-sweet pairing with the fish. The vinaigrette was refreshing and very mild.

We easily persuaded one of our second cousins to get dessert. The Homemade Ice Cream Sandwich is large and was probably meant for at least two normal people to share after the main course. Vanilla ice cream, macadamia nut brownies, raspberry sauce, and whipped cream. Pandagasm.

While the prices again would probably prevent me from returning on a regular basis, the food was very good. The ocean view you get is also epic. If you're visiting Hawaii, this may be a spot to head to. 7/10
