Fernando's Alegria

Fernando's Alegria is located at the Portland Mercado pod (SE 72nd and Foster) in Portland, Oregon.

I remembered Fernando's from the Happy Valley Station pod, but they are a much more natural fit for Portland Mercado. Basically wraps and burritos on the menu. There may also be some specials. All burritos are $8, and you can add guacamole for an extra dollar. You can also scrap the tortilla and get all the fillings as a salad instead.

The Fernando's Special Burrito has seasoned steak, grilled onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, rice, beans, sour cream, and cheese. I 86'd the sour cream and added guacamole.

It's a hefty burrito, certainly worth the $8 or $9 spent. Tender steak and fresh tomatoes in there. While the guacamole was a welcome addition. I feel that the jalapenos got a bit lost in the mix, especially when adding their spicy hot sauce. The hot sauce itself is probably just a 2-3 out of 10 on my heat scale, but packs great flavor.

Another notable burrito is Serena's Fave Burrito: choice of bacon or chorizo; with egg, potato, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Basically a wonderful breakfast burrito to me.

Check out Fernando's Alegria! 7.75/10
