The Beach Bar at Moana Surfrider

The Beach Bar is an outdoor patio bar located in the Moana Surfrider Hotel on Kalakaua Avenue. Being in the heart of Waikiki, it's another spot tourists may frequent.

I joined my uncle and cousins one more time before I headed back to the mainland. We had some live music while we reminisced.

I wanted to try one of their signature cocktails ($12.50). The Lava Rocks has strawberry colada vodka, strawberry puree, pina colada mix, lime, and pineapple juice. Very good and refreshing.

Lava Rocks
Ahi Poke Nachos ($19) are a must-get. Won ton chips, fresh island ahi, avocado, Maui onion, bonito flakes, nori, and sriracha aioli.

The ahi poke pupu ($20) comes with taro chips and sea asparagus. Since I'm a sucker for poke, I enjoyed that with gusto as well.

Banyan Nachos ($19) are basically your traditional supreme nachos with the guacamole, sour cream, etc.

For being called pupus, they're fairly sizable portions that may require sharing. Or a large panda stomach.

Again, it's Waikiki, so wallets will cry and beg for mercy. Still, can't argue with entertainment and the unparalleled beach view. 7.5/10
