Kyra's Bake Shop (Part 4)

(Original Review -- June 2011)
(Second Review -- July 2011)
(Third Review -- January 2012)

Since my last review of Kyra's Bake Shop, Kyra has won Cupcake Wars two more times (three total), changed her business name (from Crave Bake Shop), and moved to a larger location. As of this post, Kyra is still the only gluten-free winner of Cupcake Wars. The shop can now be found on A Street in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

The inside is inviting and much larger than their original spot. In her segment with KGW's Drew Carney, the place seats 36 patrons. The extra room also allows for an expanded menu, espresso bar, and cocktail menu. Gluten-free beer and cider are also sold here now.

Of course, this visit gave me a chance to enjoy Kyra's cinnamon roll once again. The price has gone up to $4.25 for one, largely due to popularity and demand. I swear it's gotten better over time. Extremely gooey and filled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and icing. It's probably best eaten with a fork and knife to stay classy, but if you want to get messy, go for it.

The expanded baked goods menu includes savory items (i.e. quiche), cookies, and slices of cake.

Kyra's offers coffee from Sisters Coffee Company. Large coffee here will run you about $3, but it's pretty damn good. As noted above, full espresso bar. The panda will have to explore that soon -- for science.

Salads and grilled sandwiches have also made their way onto the expanded menu. The gluten-free bread is made fresh in the shop. Throw in the cocktails, and it adds an entirely new experience and vibe to what I first saw over three years ago.

Kyra's Bake Shop is open seven days a week (Mon-Fri from 6 AM to 5 PM; Sat-Sun from 8 AM to 4 PM). Now, Kyra's is an ideal spot for more than breakfast or dessert. Add lunch and brunch to the list.

If you're able to explore Oregon, I hope you head to Kyra's Bake Shop. 9.75/10
