Chinook Winds Rogue River Steakhouse

Rogue River Steakhouse is located inside the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Being in the area for a friend's wedding, we all drove over to Rogue River Steakhouse for a celebration. Granted, I don't frequent steakhouses much, but when a mega-happy occasion rolls around, even the panda enjoys a higher-end meal.

The place has a full bar, and not surprisingly, I went straight for the beer. They had an IPA from 10 Barrel Brewing, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Entrees are served with house salad; bread service; fresh vegetables; and choice of potato puree (mashed potatoes), jumbo baked potato, warm potato pie, or seasonal mac and cheese.

The bread was warm and sectioned off into small slices. Even better when dipping it into some extra virgin olive oil.

Salad was fairly straightforward with mixed greens and good Italian dressing.

Wanting a dish with a little bit of everything, the Chinook Grill ($27) was the ideal pick. Filet mignon (medium rare for me), chicken breast, northwest mushrooms, and jumbo prawns with garlic and fresh sweet basil. I picked potato puree as my side, and the piping of mashed potatoes towered above everything else on the plate. All the vegetables were crunchy and vibrant. The proteins were juicy and also cooked to perfection.

While I admittedly can't see myself going to such a place all the time (feels too high-end for me), everything was awesome while I was there.

Rogue River Steakhouse has delicious food and great service! 8.5/10
