Three Mermaids Public House

Three Mermaids Public House is a gastropub located on SW Lower Boones Ferry Road in Tigard, Oregon.

This family-owned spot just opened in early March. I met a friend here midday on a Sunday, and not many people were present. Granted, I found that this place can be easy to miss (despite not being hidden from the main road), especially if you're not familiar with the area.

There are about 30 taps here (give or take a couple). I had a pint of the (very tasty) Fremont Independent IPA. Most of the selection are from the West Coast, although the selection will vary and perhaps rotate.

The menu is also fairly simple, with some sides, salads, and sandwiches. I had to get their Reuben sandwich special ($10) and added their Tomato Basil soup for a few bucks more.

Very good Reuben here, wonderfully pressed in their panini machine for a nice crunch. Good corned beef and sauerkraut, and maybe could have added a bit more 1000 Island. Lovely tomato soup. I definitely recommend dunking your sandwich in the soup and then eating it.

If not for the Reuben on special, I probably would have gone with the Grilled Cheese ($7) and made it "Caprese Style" (add tomato and basil in the sandwich) for $1 more.

You can eat inside or, weather permitting, dine al fresco on the patio. The pub is open seven days a week, but no minors after 8 PM.

Three Mermaids is a welcome addition to Tigard! 8/10

  1. The executive chef here was a genuinely nice person and never made us feel like we were just "business" for him. He was extremely competent and organized. Because of the natural beauty of the venue New York, we were able to get away with very minimal decorations.
