DesiPDX

DesiPDX is located at the A-15 Food Pod, in the alleyway just west of NE Alberta and 15th in Portland, Oregon.

The owner has logged some miles to get where he's at today, starting in India and ultimately coming to the United States. Interestingly, none of the dishes on this menu will probably be found in India. It's simply the owner's Indian take on dishes we may find here in the Pacific Northwest, an Indian fusion, if you will.

The menu has a few plates (various types of meat, seafood, and poultry), and pakora waffles (savory waffles with chutney on top). Plates can have one, two, or all side dishes.

The Chana Masala Belly with Two Sides ($12) features ginger and tamarind-braised pork belly, curried onion confit, crunchy chickpeas. Simply melt-in-your-mouth pork belly and outstanding flavors.

For sides, I got the "Portlindian Fried Rice" (Basmati rice, Oregon cranberries, and shredded coconut) and the Cabbage-Coconut Slaw (cabbage, coconut, spicy green chiles, and mustard and turmeric-infused oil). Excellent rice. The crunchy slaw was a wonderful complement and contrast to everything else. This is simply exceptional food, folks.

Other possible choices include Cardamom Chai Chicken and Methi Mirchi Shrimp. They all appear to be excellent choices here.

DesiPDX has received tons of rave reviews. Check this elite cart out! 9/10
