Maple Valley Creamery

Maple Valley Creamery is an ice cream shop and ice cream truck located in Hadley, Massachusetts (near the University of Massachusetts-Amherst campus).

Funny how things work out. While driving to the UMass campus for their football game against the University of Hawaii, I passed Maple Valley Creamery's farm store (known as Mill Valley Milk Company), saw their ice cream sign, and wondered if I should have stopped for ice cream before the game. Lo and behold, I see their ice cream truck parked at the game, just outside the stadium.

The truck had 11 flavors. People were enjoying large scoops. A single scoop was just $3, while a double scoop was only $5. Ice cream lovers rejoice!

I had to try the two UMass flavors they were selling.  The UMass Root Beer Float was pretty much as advertised, quite good. However, the UMass Lemon Raspberry Swirl stole the show. Very refreshing, wonderfully creamy, and the flavor reminded me a bit of Tasaka Guri-Guri at the Maui Mall.

Yup, that's one scoop. Fairly deep cup, too.

There was a good line throughout the game, especially at halftime. Friendly and quick service. I don't know if they're at all UMass home games, or if they bring their truck to other events. Maple Valley Creamery ice cream can be found in stores.

For the awesome ice cream and excellent price (given the size of the scoop), this is an elite place for sure. Hopefully you'll be able to check this spot out! 9.25/10
