Food Koma is located near SW 10th and Alder in downtown Portland, Oregon.
This cart opened in October 2015 and takes over a space previously housed by Addy's Sandwich Bar and Delicios.
The menu is Korean-American fusion, including kimchi fries, kimchi nachos, potsticker soup, and spicy ramen. A lot of flavorful, hearty options.
I went with the Koma Box, a take on the Korean dish bibimbap. Rice, sweet potato noodles, cabbage, spring mix, cucumber, red onions, and egg, and special house spicy sauce. You'll also get choice of protein (tofu, beef, or wings). I got beef, which made the dish $7.50. The egg is fully cooked unless otherwise requested, and I asked for overeasy.
I figured I would be waiting a few minutes for this, but I got my meal in less than a minute.
Simply a delicious meal. Warm rice, house sauce, and runny egg helped mix everything around well. Crisp and fresh veggies. The right ratio for each component. The sauce basically is gochujang made from Korean red pepper paste. Another example of a hearty meal. It's a good amount of food for $7.50.
Getting tasty food quickly at a great price, with friendly service. This is the epitome of an excellent food cart. Be sure to check out Food Koma! 9/10
