Potbelly Sandwich Shop is a national chain with locations in multiple U.S. states. This blog post covers the location at Portland International Airport in Portland, Oregon. Potbelly also has a few more locations in and around Portland.
Before taking a flight to California, I stopped at Potbelly for a quick lunch. They are known for their warm sandwiches, each taking a trip through the conveyor belt.
Sandwiches come in original or big size, and there is also a flatbread option.
The Cuban sandwich ($7.40) has slow-roasted pulled pork, smoked ham, melted Swiss, pickles, and mustard. The pickles and mustard are put on after the sandwich goes through the conveyor belt oven. I also could add hot peppers for free, so I asked for that, too.
Overall, a good, solid sandwich. I'm glad I added the hot pickled peppers, both for additional flavor and my love for spicy food. It's not a pressed sandwich, which some people may have an issue with, but for me, I probably just wished I had a bigger portion. Sounds like I'll need to order the big size next time.
There's even a Pizza Sandwich on the menu with lots of meats and marinara in there.
There may be a Potbelly Sandwich Shop near you. It's worth checking out for science. 8/10
