Taco Pedaler

Taco Pedaler is a roaming food "tricycle" that works various events around Portland, Oregon. I saw this Mexican tricycle at the 2013 Portland Summer Food Cart Festival in June.

As one might expect here, the menu is simple. Tacos, dillas, and chips with salsa. Apparently, a dilla is a corn tortilla filled with ingredients. At least on my visit, it then got pressed on the flattop, unlike the deep-fried description stated on the menu.

All tacos are $2.50, and dillas are $3. I got a chicken taco and a dilla filled with potatoes and green chiles. Each delicate corn tortilla is handmade and heated up on the flattop.

You can't beat fresh corn tortillas, and this was a very good taco. The dilla was a unique experience to me. Great execution on the potatoes. I personally love the flavor green chiles bring to the table.

I might have enjoyed my food more had I remembered to put some salsa on everything. Oops. Panda foul. The salsas were apparently homemade, too.

For me, the small portions generally mean I'll be shelling out an arm and a leg to get my food fix. But this place is definitely worth a try. 7.5/10
