Acme Cafe

Acme Cafe is located on Hansen Avenue S in Salem, Oregon.

The owners also each ran their own businesses (The Wild Pear and J James) in downtown Salem. While Wild Pear lives on, Acme is their spot in South Salem. When I came on the weekend with friends, brunch was the only way to go.

Acme Cafe has a full bar, so if I didn't have the lengthy drive back home, alcohol thirty would have been an option.

It's an American brunch menu with many of their items made from scratch.

As with virtually all brunches, I start with their house coffee. Unlimited refills, so fuel up! I was told the Bloody Mary was on the watery side. I don't generally drink those, just passing the message.

There are three flavors of sticky buns ($4.50) available, one being a seasonal option. I enjoyed the Creamy Orange Glazed sticky bun. Generous amounts of icing, and I like the adding of orange zest. Soft and moist, very well done.

Delicious Eggs Benedict here ($11.50). Toasted English muffin, perfectly poached eggs, and lemony hollandaise. Crispy potatoes on the side completed this tasty dish.

I also considered getting Don's Big Skillet ($14.50), which is basically a scramble with meat, veggies, cheese, eggs, and a bunch sausage gravy. If you want a food coma after brunch, get this one.

My friends had positive reviews on the Classic French Toast ($9), Buttermilk Biscuits & Sausage Gravy ($12.00), and Caprese Benedict ($13).

Acme Cafe is a great brunch spot in South Salem! 8/10
