Bo and Vine is located on Liberty Street NE in Salem, Oregon.
It's a family thing in Salem; the father and brother of the owner of Adam's Smokehouse opened Bo and Vine earlier this summer. The line forms on the left; head straight to the counter from the right side if you called in a pickup order.
Artwork and drawings on the wall for your viewing pleasure.
The menu is more than beef burgers; there are vegetarian and vegan burger options, as well as chicken sandwiches and salads. They offer lettuce wraps and gluten-free buns. Any chicken sandwiches have choice of fried chicken (with housemade beer batter) or grilled chicken. There are several burgers to choose from, but you can construct your own. You'll only get the burger or sandwich for the listed price; you'll have to order fries or tater tots separately.
The fries and tots come in two sizes, and both sizes have generous helpings. The regular pile of fries is a small rectangular tray, while the share size is a larger rectangular tray. The cashier described the fries as "addicting."
The Huevos Rancheros burger ($11.50) includes fire-roasted Hatch green chiles, cage-free egg (on top), housemade pepperjack beer queso, sliced avocado, housemade chipotle aioli, and cilantro.
Good burger here, albeit a messy one. Soft bun, which also appeared homemade, the top bun branded with their logo. Good runny yolk. It was a loose hand-formed 1/3 lb patty. Creamy avocado. The chiles were mild. If I had a friend or two with me, I would have easily gotten the fries. They even look like the fries you'd get at Adam's Smokehouse, so can confirm family ties.
The place is generally busiest on Friday and Saturday nights. I was wondering if a table or a chair would open up, but luckily, one did.
They serve beer and wine here, and they even suggest pairings for each burger/sandwich.
Two other tasty-looking options include the Pitmaster burger ($12) that includes Adam's BBQ sauce and a cheddar-crusted bun; and the Chicken Pesto sandwich ($10.50).
Head to Bo and Vine in downtown Salem! 7.5/10
