Julie'z Restaurant is located in the Kapolei Marketplace on Farrington Hwy in Kapolei, Hawaii.
I don't get out to Kapolei very much (and this was true even before moving to the mainland), but after mentioning the Pork Adobo Fried Rice Omelets at Elena's, my friend told me that Julie'z also serves one. For science, you know I had to check it out.
The interior is nothing flashy and is more just the old-school, unassuming sit-down lunch spot.
The Pork Adobo Fried Rice Omelet here is $9.25. A thin, crepe-like layer of egg surrounds a generous portion of fried rice and pork adobo.
Pork adobo is a Filipino delicacy. Juicy and tender chunks of pork that cook in a sauce featuring soy sauce, sugar, and vinegar, among other ingredients.
The omelet here is good-sized. Depending on the day you come - and the cook who prepares it - Elena's may still have a slightly larger version.
Fried rice itself is a push. Both Julie'z and Elena's do it right.
The pork, though, goes to Julie'z. More tender and much juicier at Julie'z. Seasoned wonderfully.
There is an all-you-can-eat buffet here. $16 for adults and $10 for kids. A great option if you want to get a more complete Filipino food experience.
I figure at some point, my friend and I will head back for more tasty menu items. Julie'z is a great spot to get your pork adobo fried rice omelet fix! 8.75/10
