TheDeli

TheDeli (apparently one word) is located in a building that can be accessed from Merchant Street or S King Street in downtown Honolulu, Hawaii.

Adjacent to Kai Coffee is TheDeli, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. Gyros and falafel are the main attractions on the menu, whether in pita bread, over rice, or in a salad. There may also be weekly specials. Falafel apparently is only served on Thursdays, according to the menu.

I ordered the full-sized gyro with feta cheese ($9.20). Toasted pita bread on the bottom, then a layer of hummus, lettuce, tabouleh (cucumber and parsley salad), tzatziki, and generous portions of gyro meat.

And since we also eat with our eyes, very appealing presentation. The panda approves.

The "mini" version, for those wondering, is the same thing, but with less meat. Bring on the protein gainz.

This was an excellent gyro. Juicy and tender gyro meat, refreshing tabouleh, and awesome hummus. Tzatziki was also in the proper amounts and brought everything together. I simply can't pass up the salty feta on a gyro.

It didn't take long to get my meal, too. My food was ready for me less than a minute after I ordered.

If you like a good Mediterranean meal, TheDeli is a place you should check out! 8.5/10
