The Doner Haus

The Doner Haus is a German food cart located at the Mississippi/Beech pod in Portland, Oregon.

The panda learns something every day. Didn't realize before my visit that Germany was responsible for foods that I'd associate more with the Mediterranean/Turkish cuisine (doner, gyros, etc.).

A good menu here. I am also a big sucker for curry, so I'll have to try that at some point.

I went with the Doner Sandwich ($6.50) on this visit and added feta for 50 cents more. Shaved slices of lamb/beef inside a Kaiser roll with tzatziki, feta, and all the usual veggies. As expected, the meat is what truly makes this a sandwich to get. Juicy, flavorful, and still warm when biting in. It may get a bit messy, but that's the fun part of my hobby.

This cart has been open seven days a week from 11-8. As with any cart, hours may be subject to change.

Not sure why it took me a while to try The Doner Haus, but I definitely recommend this food cart! 8/10
