Taqueria Jalisco

Taqueria Jalisco is located at the corner of SE 82nd and Division, in the parking lot of a mini supermarket, in Portland, Oregon.

My friend Jeff, who runs Mama Chow's Kitchen, suggested I go here for some excellent grub. Being a huge fan of Mexican food, I can't say no.

It's your typical taco truck, with numerous meats to choose from. You can also get tortas and burritos, and there's even a nice breakfast menu if that's more your thing. On Tuesdays, you can get 99 cent tacos here because proper science.

Keep in mind, they are a cash-only truck.

But even at normal prices, each taco will be $1.50 at the most. I tried an al pastor taco and a lengua taco this time around. You'll get onions and cilantro on top by default, although you can omit any of them if you wish. I also got pickled veggies and a roasted jalapeno half on the side. In a compartment on the truck, there are more condiments such as hot sauce, pico de gallo, and more pickled veggies (the latter condiment likely because there are breakfast burrito options for that).

Both meats were excellent, juicy and tender. Each cut to small cubed diced pieces. No clear-cut winner on which I'd prefer, which frankly is a good thing because I like variety when getting a plate of tacos.

It took a few minutes to get my order, so they likely make everything to order.

Depending on what time and what day you go, it may be a task to exit that parking lot. Both SE 82nd and Division are main arterial roads.

Taqueria Jalisco is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Awesome recommendation by Jeff.

Head to this elite food truck and get some great food! 9/10
