Rich Coletta ran this business in Port Townsend, Washington, for about nine years before starting up his cart in Portland. It's traditional Chicago-style, rotisserie-cooked gyros. Yup, on a vertical spit and everything.

Rich invites people to have a sample of the gyro meat (a lamb-beef blend). Just a small piece with some tzatziki. I was the fish and his bait reeled me in.
I got a gyro and added feta for an extra dollar ($8 total). A warm pita gets a nice helping of freshly sliced meat off the spit. Add some sliced onions, tomato, and tzatziki. Gotta have feta in this to make it doubly or triply dangerous.

Yeah, that was a damn good gyro. Dangerously delicious. So I nearly burned my hands playing "hot potato" with the gyro. Burns heal. Gyros are forever awesome.
I also got a piece of Rich's baklava ($1.50) to get a more well-rounded experience. Delicious, tasty, and sticky. There's a joke in there somewhere.
The Gyros Plate ($10) gets you more gyro meat with some cut-up pita bread. The falafel sandwich ($7) includes tahini sauce.
This is a cash-only food cart for now. The Gyros Spot is open six days a week starting at 11 a.m. The cart is closed on Tuesdays.
Another great food cart in Portland! 8.5/10
