Pyro's Wicked Wiches

Pyro's Wicked Wiches is located at the Tidbit pod (SE 28th and Division) in Portland, Oregon.

Pyro's takes over the same cart Potato Potato ran their business from.

This is the newest endeavor from the guys at Pyro Pizza: preparing their own meats and making killer sandwiches. With the exception of the Texas Brisket ($12), sandwiches are $10. Each sandwich comes with choice of chips or soup of the day.

Being a sucker for Cuban sandwiches, I went straight for The Cuban: Roasted pork, smoked ham, Swiss, dill pickles, mustard, and mayo, all pressed inside a hoagie roll.

I loved the meats inside this sandwich. Awesome smoked ham and excellent pork. A side of me wanted the sandwich pressed just a bit longer to melt that cheese down. Great tang from the mustard and yummy zest from the pickles.

The chips are extremely crunchy and top-notch, but a bit too salty for me on this visit. Depending on the type of soup offered, I may opt for the soup on the next go-around.

I may return for that Texas Brisket sandwich, especially because they make their own BBQ sauce.

With several amazing sandwich places in town (see PBJ's Grilled, J Mo's Sandwich Shack, Monk's Deli, and Bunk Sandwiches, to name a few), Pyro's Wicked Wiches faces some stiff competition. I'm sure they will do just fine. Now if only some of those meats make it to the pizza menu, I'd resemble the heavy cat breathing meme. 7/10
