Amy's Omelette House (Cherry Hill)

Amy's Omelette House has three locations in New Jersey. This blog post covers the spot on Cuthbert Blvd in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

If you love breakfast, this is the place for you. Over 200 different combinations of omelets, 30 different types of pancakes, 10 different types of French toast, and much more.

Of course, I started with coffee. Another fine cup here. And they left the carafe for me to refill myself. Bottomless coffee ftw.

My Mom ordered the vegetarian omelet ($11.25), which has mushrooms, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Probably a three-egg omelet. It came with home fries and toast.

Sticking with wanting to try a lot of regional foods, I got the (regular) French toast with scrapple ($10.75). My first scrapple experience, and (spoiler alert) it wouldn't be my last.

Scrapple!

For those wondering, scrapple is combining pork scraps with cornmeal and wheat flour. This then gets baked as a loaf, then sliced and pan-fried before serving so you get that sear on the outside, with a mushy, creamy inside. I see a lot of similarities with spam here, but mushier than that. If people hate it, it's probably because of the texture. I actually liked it.

Very good French toast, and I had a healthy helping of the omelet. Everything was delicious.

I was close to getting the Banana Caramel Crunch French Toast. which has walnuts and brown sugar on the toast, then topped with bananas, walnuts, and warm caramel drizzle. But with more eating adventures ahead, I thought our two meals provided an awesome first experience at Amy's.

Amy's is also open for lunch and dinner, which has several sandwich, salad, and entree options.

Great service. The walls were adorned with vintage artifacts and other items from yesteryear. It certainly gives the place additional character.

For a wonderful start to the day, head to Amy's Omelette House for a hearty breakfast! 9/10
