Yup, the tree trunk goes through the awning... |
Cue breakfast burrito bender. It happens every now and then. Simply put, I felt like trying a new cart and this particular spot has $4 breakfast burritos. There are seven different options, but I zeroed in on the one with bacon. Gotta admit it, bacon makes everything better.

(January 2013) |
I got the #3 breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and cheese. Just a simple, delicious burrito cooked to order. The man working the cart warmed up the flour tortilla, scoring a few more points on my happiness meter. Smoky diced bacon is evenly distributed throughout the burrito to satisfy that meat crack craving. Great balance of bacon, scrambled eggs, soft hash browns, and melted cheese.

Inside the burrito! Gotta have the red hot sauce! |
You can have your choice of hot sauces. The green one is more a tomatillo sauce, while the red one probably uses chipotle peppers. Both are very good. It's a good-sized, quality breakfast burrito for the money spent.
The lunch burritos are $5 and include beans, rice, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and your choice of meat. Tacos are $1.50. Dinner plates are $6, with options like enchiladas, chile rellenos, quesadillas, or nachos.
There are many Mexican carts throughout Portland, and I'm glad I stopped at this one!
