Leo's Taverna Express is a Greek food stand in Honolulu, Hawaii.
A lot of my friends know that I love gyros, so even in Hawaii, I'm probably gonna pick a place that sells 'em and get one. This place has your typical Greek food options, from gyros to baklava.
The gyro here ($6.15) has that thicker pita bread that I like. It costs an extra $1.25 to add feta. My wallet probably didn't like it, but I added the cheese anyway because it rules.
It's a good gyro with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. The meat (combination of lamb and beef) was seasoned nicely.
The baklava ($1.85) was executed well overall. You can see the multiple layers of phyllo. This version was probably a bit on the sweet side for me. Nice and sticky. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere.
Considering the higher prices in Hawaii (sorry, I've gotten used to the generally cheaper prices in the Pacific NW), this was a decent stop for a nice snack. 7/10
