Gabagool

Gabagool is an Italian food cart located at the corner of N Mississippi and N Beech in Portland, Oregon. Ryan opened this cart on June 28 serving flatbread sandwiches and from-scratch pasta.

My good friend Steven from Portland Food Cart Adventures recommended this cart. Boy, has he uncovered some real awesome food finds!

Ryan recommends the Pappardelle ($8) with pork fennel sausage ragu and grated grana padano cheese. It's a hearty dish with tons of flavor.

I opted for the Tagliatelle ($6) with pomodoro sauce, basil, and grana padano cheese. Simple flavors overall. The pomodoro packs explosive flavor, and there's nothing like fresh basil over your pasta. The thin noodles were cooked wonderfully, with the slightest bite to them. If anything, I'd like a much larger portion.

I've also heard great reviews on the Tritata salad ($6), which has chopped romaine, salami, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, basil, roasted tomatoes, castelvetrano olives, chickpeas, hot peppers, and balsamico. A more low-carb meal, if you're seeking that.

Also be on the lookout for some delicious specials!

The flatbread sandwiches are either $6 or $7. In particular, the Gabagool ($7) features capicola, salami, romaine, roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and hot peppers.

This cart is open from Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner hours. Check out Ryan's cart and get some excellent food!
