Portland Food Carts: Holiday Adventure

Since I'll be spending Christmas and New Year's on the mainland again for the fourth consecutive year, I decided to take a nice Portland food cart adventure a few days before Christmas. I basically revisited a few of my favorites (trust me, the list would be a mile long or so).

I started in downtown Portland. Michael and Charlene at Gaufre Gourmet did a Pumpkin Cheesecake Waffle as a holiday special. No way was I passing this one up.

Next, I paid Todd a visit at Ole Latte Coffee. I encourage people to take part in the Suspended Coffee promotion here; buy a cup of coffee (anonymously and charitably) for a person in need.

I got myself a custom spicy Cranberry Mocha and remained a happy panda.

I ventured a few blocks south to see Pierre at Pulehu Pizza. There are daily dessert pizza specials here, which should get even more people to stop by. Dessert pizza special of the day: New York Cheesecake pizza with some cherry pie filling and graham cracker crumbles on top. Miraculously, I made it last a couple days -- and it was just as amazing the next day.

I drove to the A la Carts Food Pavilion (SE 50th and Ivon) to Hapa Ramen. Sarah had some curry and rice with garlic fried chicken on top. I might have to work on my food scarfing skills when wielding chopsticks.

Rose City Food Park was my final stop. Jim and Bonnie at GF Chef had some delicious bread pudding. Love the presentation.

My final meal of the day: A peanut butter and pickle cheeseburger from Rockin' Robyn's Sassy Burger. A glorious helping of Reese's PB.

Not surprisingly, the panda needed an hour on the treadmill the morning after. But definitely all worth it.

2013 was a great year. I see even bigger, more amazing events for 2014!
