Athena's Gyros

Athena's Gyros is a food truck based in Seattle, Washington. My friend and I located this truck at the 2011 Seattle Center Mobile Feast. Otherwise, I am currently unaware as to whether they do regular lunch hours at certain locations, or if they simply do special/private events for now.

Menu at the 10/29/11 Seattle Center Mobile Feast
I ordered their lamb gyro ($8): Classic Greek seasoned (sliced) lamb, tomatoes, lettuce, caramelized onions, feta cheese, kalamata olives, and tzatziki in a warm, toasted pita.

The perfectly cooked strips of lamb melted in my mouth like butter. The salty feta and briny olives were great, and I felt it was the right amount of tzatziki here (not always a fan of having messy street food, after all). The toasted pita was still soft and very pliable, rounding out a great snack (yes, this would be a snack for me). The best part was seeing the steam emanating from the gyro on a chilly day.

If you find Athena's in your neck of the woods, be sure to check them out! I would definitely like to try their other menu items in the future. 8/10
