Fusion on the Run

Fusion on the Run is an "Island-Asian" fusion food truck roaming the streets of Seattle, Washington. Their main menu consists of tacos, quesadillas, and sandwiches (namely their banh mi). Owner Cassandra Seaman grew up in the lovely state of Hawaii (hey, that's where I'm from!) eating some "ono local grindz" and heading to her favorite surf spot. She eventually made her way to the Pacific Northwest, opening Fusion on the Run in September 2010.

Specials on 10/19/11

I ordered one coconut ginger chicken taco ($2): coconut ginger chicken, house slaw, and cilantro inside two corn tortillas.

The chicken was nice and moist here, and while I got a hint of the ginger, it otherwise felt bland to me. The black sesame seeds on the tangy slaw brought a nice color and textural contrast. I squeezed the juice from the small lime wedge on the taco for more flavor. If ordering tacos, people probably get at least two, since otherwise it's a pretty small appetizer. Hey, who knows, I'm sure people have orders of tacos in the double digits as well. I'd probably try their kalua pork or a banh mi sandwich the next time I come back. Maybe then, I'll get something that really knocks my socks off. 5/10
