Cool Moon Ice Cream (Part 2)

(Original Review -- July 2011)

I returned to Cool Moon Ice Cream a couple weeks back. Although I had hit several spots for lunch just prior to the visit, I was still hungry and craving sweets.

I got a micro cup of the Spicy Thai Peanut ($3.10, but $2.94 if paying with cash). Excellent ice cream, as always, and probably one of my new favorites at Cool Moon. The noticeable back-end kick reminded me of the divine "Queen City Cayenne" (chocolate) ice cream I had at Jeni's in Columbus, Ohio. Here, the peanuts and cayenne tag-teamed and detonated a kickass explosion in my mouth. The bits of peanut in each bite just screamed "winner winner ice cream dinner."

I sampled three more flavors on my visit that week and jotted some quick notes:

Peppermint Candy Cane -- "bold peppermint flavors, a great seasonal (winter) treat"
Coffee Crackle -- "coffee from a bold dark roast, chocolate pieces/shavings, a favorite for mocha lovers"
Hibiscus Sorbet -- "light, satisfying, with a flowery hint"

This time, the ice cream was slightly harder and denser than the previous experience. Regardless, it's still on my elite list of places! An excellent scoop shop! 9/10

  1. Wow! That ice cream look so scrumptious! I don't enjoy eating ice cream though because I have sensitive teeth. I might as well visit my Atlanta sedation dentistry soon to help me with my sensitive teeth. I miss eating ice cream and enjoying it without hurting my teeth.
