Kikuya Japanese Restaurant is located on North King St. in Honolulu, HI. A friend of mine took me here last August for the "Kalihi Roll."
Basically, it's a California roll, with eel, scallops, and special sauce on it. It's baked in an oven for a few minutes before serving. I was a happy panda after just one bite. It is a very flavorful dish, and the warm sauce just brings everything together. The only thing is, I have no idea how often they serve it. If it's a special, then it may not be made very often. All I know is my friend ordered one for each of us and left it at that.
Their spicy tuna roll is nothing special, but still very good. The chef was a nice guy to chat with, and the place had good ambiance. I would think of going back for more. The Kalihi Roll is definitely a home run here, folks. If I still lived in Hawaii, I would be eating it quite often. 6.75/10
