Paul's Poppers

Paul's Poppers, located on North King Street in Honolulu, Hawaii, are known for their hand-folded fried wontons. Coming in at least five different types (not including any "special" poppers that come out on a regular basis), these poppers have been dubbed a "bite size of happiness," creating "popper addicts" everywhere.

Paul's Poppers had quite a line forming at November's Eat The Street!
Bacon Macaroni and Cheese poppers...easily the most popular choice
Couldn't go wrong with the Spinach/Artichoke one, though!
At Eat The Street, Paul's offered four different types of poppers. A person could get six poppers (limited to one type per half-dozen) for $5. I got six of the spinach-artichoke poppers.

The lovely filling!
Just perfect frying here, golden brown and crisp on the outside. The light, warm filling (consisting of spinach, artichoke, and cheese) was gooey and satisfying.

They had Bacon Mac and Cheese poppers at Eat The Street. Yeah, you heard me. Not surprisingly, those sold like hotcakes. Whomever invented bacon should be worshiped for life.

I wish there was an option at Eat The Street to sample all the poppers, something like a "Sampler's Dozen" to get maybe three of each popper. Charge about $8 or $9 for it at a future Eat The Street event. I'm sure that will be a big hit. Heck, I believe they already do something similar at the restaurant.

Paul's also offers menu items like garlic chicken and kimchi fried rice at their restaurant. But the poppers remain the signature item. Check out Paul's Poppers and try those little wontons out for yourself! 7.5/10
