Sushi PDX

(Second Review -- February 2012)

Sushi PDX is located at the Good Food Here pod on SE Belmont in Portland, Oregon. This cart moved to Good Food Here after the Green Castle Food Pod closed at the end of October 2011.

At Sushi PDX, you can get hand rolls, regular sushi rolls, and udon noodle soups.

Menu (mid-November 2011)

I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll ($3.25): finely chopped-up fresh tuna is mixed with the usual "spicy" creamy sauce (probably the equivalent of mayonnaise and sriracha). This is combined with what appeared to be sprouts of some sort, wrapped in nori.

I liked the abundance of fresh tuna here, no skimping on that! I thought the ratio of rice and fish was spot-on. The nori lost a bit of its delicate, bright, crispy nature, but that was likely due to me not picking up my order faster.

According to Sushi PDX's Facebook page, the Crunchy Roll has gotten real popular at the Good Food Here pod. It's shrimp tempura, crab salad, and cucumber inside a sushi roll. Sounds delicious to me, too! Perhaps I shoulda gotten that instead....

I'll give this cart a passing score, but I've only had one of their (many sushi) items so far. Check out Sushi PDX at Good Food Here!
